Prenatal Lactation
A 45-minute class that prepares you for breastfeeding with guidance on latch, positioning, milk supply, and common challenges, plus a take-home handout to support you after class.

Breastfeeding is a natural process, but that doesn’t mean it always comes naturally. This 45-minute class is designed to help expecting parents feel prepared and confident before baby arrives, making those first days a little smoother. Together, we’ll cover the foundations of breastfeeding, including proper latch and positioning, how to establish and maintain milk supply, and how to recognize when your baby is feeding effectively. We’ll also discuss common challenges new parents face, such as soreness, engorgement, or sleepy babies, and go over practical solutions so you feel empowered to navigate them.

In addition to hands-on demonstrations and time for your questions, you’ll also learn what to expect during your hospital stay—such as when your baby will first breastfeed, how staff may support you, and what’s normal in those first 24–48 hours. Each family leaves with a detailed handout that summarizes the information covered, giving you a reliable resource to revisit at home. With evidence-based guidance and compassionate support, this class helps set the stage for a positive breastfeeding journey right from the start.
